چکیده

We report on the NEMA-NU2-2012 performance of a hypothetical Monte Carlo (MC) model, Ex-PET, Siemens Biograph Vision positron emission tomography (PET)/CT (Bio-Vis) with sparse detector module rings and extended axial field view (AFOV). MC simulations were performed interleaved 32-mm gaps, equivalent to dimension each module, yielding an AFOV 48.0 cm (Bio-Vis has 25.6-cm AFOV). 3D-PET acquisition combined limited continuous-bed-motion (limited-CBM) was used compensate for loss in sensitivity within gaps' regions. Bio-Vis comparison purposes. All using GATE toolkit. Ex-PET exhibited 0.49, 0.16, 0.16 mm deterioration resolution at 1, 10, 20 off-center transaxial view, respectively, compared Bio-Vis. Only 1% reduction system 6% peak NECR observed 3D-OSEM image reconstruction, CBM, allowed compensating lack counts NEMA Image Quality test showed <; contrast recovery versus Bio-Vis, yet background variability increased by up 8%. The feasibility PET imaging easily adoptable configuration demonstrated. This can lay pathway future development cost-effective systems long conventional AFOV's.

Quantitative comparison of PET performance—Siemens Biograph mCT and mMR

BACKGROUND Integrated clinical whole-body PET/MR systems were introduced in 2010. In order to bring this technology into clinical usage, it is of great importance to compare the performance with the well-established PET/CT. The aim of this study was to evaluate PET performance, with focus on image quality, on Siemens Biograph mMR (PET/MR) and Siemens Biograph mCT (PET/CT). METHODS A direct qu...

The study of neutron interactions with soft tissue using Monte Carlo simulation using the source PF

The most important part of neutron therapy treatment (NCT1) is to achieve a beam of neutrons with suitable energy and intensity, as well as the least pollution and damage. In this study, in order to correct the neutron spectrum from D-D fusion and its use in neutron therapy, a set of different materials which are called the Beam Shaping Assembly (BSA) was placed in the direction of energy 2.45 ...

stimate bowtie filter shape in PET/CT scan with TLD

Introduction: The CT machine utilizes a bowtie filter to shape the X-ray beam and remove lower energy photons. Configuration of this bowtie filter is complex and its geometry is often not available in detail. It causes the CT dose index (CTDI) be with the different values in measurement versus Monte Carlo simulation studies and other analytical calculations. It is important esp...
